A message from the Deputy Vice-Chancellor

Dear Applicant

Thank you for expressing an interest in the role of Head of Procurement at the University of Bedfordshire.  If you are successful you will be joining a university in a strong position, at a successful time when the global reputation of the University is growing.  There has been large scale investment in the University, especially in our estates, and ensuring value for money and that projects are delivered in time and on budget is paramount.

The University has identified that this role is critical to the effective delivery of our investment and needs of the organisation.  Working with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and being part of the Finance team this individual will play a key role in ensuring that the procurement processes within the university work effectively and with over £180m of investment over the next seven years that the risk is minimised through a strong and effective procurement operation.  This role requires a highly competent leader, able to engage with a variety of customers within the University as well as our external suppliers and stakeholders.  Understanding of the university sector is not a prerequisite but exposure to public sector procurement is.

If you are excited by the opportunities and challenges that this role presents, and are keen to play a leading role in shaping the future success of the University of Bedfordshire, then we look forward to hearing from you. You can speak to our advising consultants at Veredus: Paul Aristides on 020 7932 4240 or Manjit Mundair-Lalli on 020 7932 4210.

Yours faithfully

Donald Harley
Deputy Vice-Chancellor
